HPR 500 Exercise Physiology

Focuses on the acute and chronic effects of exercise on bioenergetics; endocrinology; and the cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal, and neuromuscular systems. Other areas of study include the pathophysiology of diseases associated with a sedentary lifestyle and the role of exercise in the prevention and treatment of hypokinetic diseases. Special populations will be examined with regard to exercise prescription. Offered spring semester only. (3)
