PT 755 Topics in Specialty Practice

Explores various specialty practice settings, allowing students to delve more deeply into the unique opportunities and skill sets required to succeed as an autonomous practitioner in one of several specialty practice settings. The specific settings covered in the course are based on student interest and current trends in the field. Relevant patient screening, differential diagnosis, and interventions are addressed as well as the role of the physical therapist as the primary health care provider, consultant, patient educator, manager of services, and patient advocate in the specialty practice setting. Offered spring semester only. Prerequisites: PT 700, PT 702, PT 710, PT 713, PT 720, PT 723, PT 730, PT 733, PT 740, PT 741, PT 744, PT 745, PT 800. (2)
