FLP 515 The Death Penalty and its Mitigation
Students will learn about the American legal system as pertaining to death penalty cases. Although the course will emphasize trail-level capital litigation and mitigation, students will also learn about post-conviction/habeas, and executive clemency. Focused study and teaching will be on past and present capital litigation, defense investigation and sentencing mitigation, capital defendants and mental health, trial level strategy and practices, and other topics.
