NUF 503 Primary Care of the Family I
Builds upon the knowledge and skill base from previous M.S.N. core and F.N.P. courses. It provides the theoretical, clinical role development, and skill foundation requisite for the primary care of individuals and families with common acute and chronic health problems. Focus is on the application of evidence-based concepts essential to the delivery of quality-driven advanced practice care. Further role preparation for the primary care family nurse practitioner is emphasized with attention to the components of a comprehensive assessment, clinical management, therapeutic monitoring, and coordination of health promotion and health care. The clinical learning environment provides essential experiential opportunities for the development and refinement of core competencies. Prerequisites: NUF 501-502. (8)
