PSY 326 Forensic Psychology

Provides students with an introduction to the field of forensic psychology. This course will focus on the interface between psychology and the justice system, including legal proceedings, law enforcement agencies, and correctional institutions. Attention will be given to the way psychologists can influence the system on such issues as assessment of competency and insanity, legal decision making, jury composition, criminal behavior, and correctional psychology. Prerequisites: PSY 101 or PSY 110, and 3 credits in psychology coursework. (3)
